Alabama Power HQ – Birmingham, AL
Alabama Power Headquarters Building is an 18 story, corporate headquarters building located in Birmingham, AL. The building, completed in 1990, is a part of the Alabama Power Headquarters Complex which is composed of four office buildings, two parking decks, and two parking lots. The four buildings contain over 1,300,000 sf and house over 5,000 employees. The Alabama Power Headquarters Complex is one of several corporate buildings Southern Company has in the Birmingham area.
This project was initiated through service related activities with BST/Eagle Fire, Birmingham, AL as early as 2017. In 2019, Kevin Fleming began working with BST’s Tim Bishop to continue to move the project forward. Several meetings, presentations, and negotiations ensued including carefully scheduled face-2-face meetings during COVID 19 shutdowns. After a great effort by BST’s Tim Bishop, the commitment to move forward with the installation of a 39+ node EST4 Network with 3 FireWorks stations was obtained. This will be accomplished over the next 24 months.
Unlocking success with Edwards involved strategic initiatives. The team orchestrated conference calls and engaging presentations with key partners such as Alabama Power and BST, fostering collaborative discussions. In a testament to our commitment, face-to-face meetings have persevered even in the face of COVID challenges, allowing them to address and resolve concerns related to the EST3 to EST4 Upgrade. Decision on a EST4/Optica Installation of a new system, side-by-side, the existing EST3 system due to potential downtime concerns..
