Signature Device Supervision and Sensor InitializationDid you know that once the database is transmitted to a panel, the Signature device programming is not complete? Once mapping is completed, the loop controller will start the programming of Signature modules and detectors personality which is known as device supervision and sensor initialization. The device supervision and sensor initialization process can take up to a half hour or so to complete. The status of the device supervision and sensor initialization process can be viewed in the Signature diagnostics current status window. If mapping is not completed, the device supervision and sensor initialization will not start. This can cause testing issues because the Signature devices will not operate as programmed since their personality change did not take place. It is highly recommended to turn off mapping on new projects or sites under construction. Once all programmed devices are installed on the loop and communicating, the device supervision and sensor initialization process has started and completed, you should then enable mapping. Doing so will ensure that the Signature devices are programmed as configured in the project. |
