This eLearning emphasizes the hardware, installation, and programming of the 3‑MODCOM component for fire applications of an EST4 system. Participants configure the 3‑MODCOM communication protocols and Central Monitoring Station (CMS) requirements; and write rules for 3-MODCOM communication(s).

New Instructor – Carlos Martinez

The Edwards Training Department is pleased to welcome Field Trainer Carlos Martinez to the team! Carlos brings over a decade of experience to our team. Starting his career in 2008 at a low-voltage company in Tempe, AZ, he honed his skills in fire alarm installation and service. His work ethic and expertise led him to Edwards, where he joined our ranks in November 2023.

He holds certifications in fire alarm, burglar alarm, access control, video management software, and Nurse Call. His specialties include EST3 and EST4 systems, making him an invaluable asset to our team. He has already begun his US travels, delivering EST4 mobile certification classes.

Welcome, Carlos! We’re thrilled to have you on board.

Course Cancellation Policy

Purpose The purpose of this policy is to define consistent course cancellation procedures which provide a balance between the company's need for cost effectiveness and the participant's need for service and support.
Policy To avoid billing, participants who cancel their enrollment from a scheduled class must make their request at least 3 weeks prior to the class start date.
Participants who cancel less than 3 weeks prior to the class will be assessed the following course cancellation penalty:
 
  • Between 2-3 weeks: 50% of tuition
  • Between 1 - 2 weeks: 75% of tuition
  • Failure to notify: 100% of tuition
Cancellation Request Process
  1. Participant or their manager notifies elc@carrier.com of intent to cancel via email.
  2. elc@carrier.com will communicate to the participant or their administrator if a cancellation penalty applies.
